

Antoinette “Toni” Curry Walther passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the age of 74. She was a native of New Orleans, raised in Chalmette and was a resident of both Metairie and Kenner. In her children's early years, Toni was very involved in the Saint Mary Magdalen Mother's Club and Mike Miley Playground activities. She formed a strong bond with her Mothers of Twins Club family, receiving and providing support for over fifty years. Toni was an amazing cook and loved to host family and friends for various celebrations. As her children grew up, Toni became a caregiver to her mother, mother-in-law and aunt. She and Philip were awarded Caregivers of the Year by the Alzheimer's Association of New Orleans in 2000. In retirement, Toni enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the US, especially to Houma and Austin, Texas to see her beloved grandchildren. They also enjoyed dining with friends, including the Redemptorist HS Class of 1969 Social Club.
Toni is preceded in death by her parents, John F. Curry, Sr and Sarah P. Curry; and her brother, John F. Curry, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Philip B. Walther; her daughter, Laurie Canare (Gil); her son, Philip Walther, Jr (Tonya); grandchildren, Amelia and Elijah Canare and Ava and Charlotte Walther; nephew, John F. Curry III (Lori) and their daughters, Sadie and Penelope. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Fidelis/Craig House and Dr. Kiran Zaveri and Dr. Richard Airhart for their loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Visitation will be from 11AM until the service begins at 1PM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
