Barbara A. Sinclair Ladner

Barbara Ann Sinclair Ladner passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 28, 1938. After graduating from John McDonogh High School in 1956, she went on to the University Of New Orleans College Of Business. During her time at UNO, she participated in beauty pageants and the drama club. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in 1963, she began her career in accounting and bookkeeping. She was a loyal employee of Ladner’s Heating and Air Conditioning, Ochsner and Ladner’s Industries Co. DBA Ladner’s Pools. Barbara had a gift for music. In her free time, she loved singing as a cantor for Masses at various churches and playing piano.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Sinclair and Cecilia Sinclair Praetorius; divorced husband, Theodore Alfonce Ladner, Sr.; and sister, Noella Sinclair Thonn.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tarin Elaine S. Ladner Poston (Kenneth R); sons, Theodore Alfonce Ladner, Jr. and Tevin Sinclair Ladner; sister, Janet Sinclair Ladner; brother, Stephen Sinclair; grandchildren, Tara Poston Mendel (Christopher), Kyle J. Poston (Genevieve Mullen), and Timothy Sinclair Ladner; and great granddaughter, Madilyn R. Mendel.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, at 2 PM. Visitation will begin at 12 PM. After the Mass, Barbara will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park.
