I miss her still to this day, she was more than just a resident I had the pleasure of assisting! Sweet, wise, and loving

I had Ms. Vigo as a 7th and 8th grade student at St. Raphael in New Orleans in the late 1990s. She was my math and science teacher and she was my absolute favorite teacher. I have many fond memories of her, and she is the sole reason why I became a high school math teacher and eventual math instructional coach. I often share my memories of her with the new teachers I work with, and my only regret is that I did not reach out to her to thank her before her passing. She was an amazing woman; I hope my work in the field we both love can be an honor to her memory.

I still think of you everyday. In the healthcare field they say don’t get attached to your residents 3 yrs wasn’t long enough  . I miss you Mrs. Vigo your apartment has been empty all this time, I go in there and I’m like ohhh how I miss you. R.I.H 

Mrs. Vigo was a beloved teacher , mentor and general encourager . She touched the lives of many including myself. May the eternal light shine upon her and may she Rest In Peace 🙏

It's been 2yrs since you transitioned Mama Vigo. I still talk about the things you taught me, the laughs, the phone orders the 2 and a half years I was your PCA at Chateau. Your room is still yours (Such a strong little lady) the other day the light call ligh went off in your neighbors room ( you know Mr.Emitt) he transitioned on as well. I went past and said hey Mama Vigo I take you with me always. Miss you til then I'll keep checking my emails!! August 19 we have a party for You and my son your birthday twin 🥰😘

I have so many wonderful memories of all of your family in the house on Dublin Street. I can vividly remember your Mom in the kitchen cooking and always reading a book. Mrs. Vigo was a beautiful person.. I will always remember her kindness and generosity. I hope you can find some peace in knowing that she and Milton are together again. My condolences to the entire Vigo/Hecker Clan, but especially to her Children and Grandchildren.   Barbara will be missed by all, from family to former students.  I for one will miss her, as she always loved a good conversation ... and never had trouble holding her own with anyone!!  It was fitting that she died on Palm Sunday ... and was buried on Good Friday ... as she was a Suffering Servant if ever God had one!  My hope is that she can Rest in Peace, enjoy the presence of Milton again and in the Fullness of Time be able now to read every book ever written!  God Bless all her family and friends!

I just wanted to extend my sympathy to the family, Ms. Vigo was my 6th grade teacher at St. Raphael the Archangel in the 80's and she really was one of my favorite teachers of the 8yrs I was there, she made me laugh and had a funny sense of humor when conducting class but serious also when she had to be, I never forgot her, she really was a good teacher to me, rest in peace!

So sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. My Dad (August Fischer) was her cousin and she was one of the last of that generation on that side of my family. I will always remember her kindness and her wit.

I had the pleasure of  caring for Mrs. Vigo for 2 yrs, my life is forever changed. God knew what we need when he put us together. Love you and miss you mama Vigo 🥰🥰🥰😥

Conrad, Lynn, Marian, and Marc,
May your sweet mother rest in peace with her Creator.  She is now with your father, and loving husband.  I spent a fair amount of time around your mother back in the late 60's and early 70's while Conrad and I were at De La Salle.   Your mother was so kind, gentle, and had such a sweet disposition all the time.  My memories of her are quite fond.  My prayers are with her and all of you.
