Barry Viosca

Barry Francis Viosca, aged 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 23, 2024. A native of New Orleans, he was born on June 28, 1944, and graduated from De La Salle High School before earning a Business Administration degree and Juris Doctor from Tulane University.

Barry dedicated his career to the legal profession as an attorney and was a longtime member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharist Minister. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, taking road trips with his family, engaging in coffee talks with lifelong friends, and cherishing moments with his grandchildren and grand dogs.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Carol Uglesich Viosca; daughters Dynelle Nicole Viosca and Chalon Viosca LaFleur (Jean Paul); grandchildren Campbell Emily LaFleur and Alaine Elizabeth LaFleur; and sister Bonnie A. Viosca.

Viosca was preceded in death by his parents, Jules John Viosca, Jr. and Frances Newman Viosca, and his brother, Jules J. Viosca III.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 12 PM. Visitation will commence at 10 AM. Following the chapel service, Barry will be laid to rest in his family’s tomb at Metairie Cemetery.
