Benjamin Joseph Blackwell

Kind, caring, loving, helpful, encouraging, humorous. If you were blessed enough to cross paths with Ben, there’s no doubt he made an impression on your life. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh, bringing joy to those around him. Ben had a servant’s heart. He had a passion for helping those in need, whether it was a loved one, friend, coworker, a stranger, a stray fur baby, or the homeless Ben was always ready and willing to lend a hand up.

On November 20, 1981 this world was blessed with the birth of Benjamin Joseph Blackwell. Ben passed away on November 8, 2019 leaving his wife- the love of his life, his Bumblebee, Emma Benton-Blackwell to cherish his memories and his one of a kind spirit. He is survived by His father Peter Blackwell, brother Kevin Blackwell, & mother in law Sherry Benton.

Those that paved the way for Ben to a far better place that this world are his mother Paula Blackwell, his grandmother Anna Ferrera, and his grandfather Anthony Ferrara.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Friday, November 15, 2019 from

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. There will be no ceremony but anyone who wishes to speak on his behalf will be warmly welcomed.
