Beulah Brouillette DeMoss

7 agosto, 1923 – 26 enero, 2026
Obituario de Beulah Brouillette DeMoss
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries

Beulah Brouillette DeMoss passed away peacefully at her home on January 26, 2026, at the age of 102. Born August 7, 1923, she was a resident of Slidell, LA for 49 years, and previously resided in New Orleans, LA for nearly 40 years. She was born and raised in an Acadian-French speaking community in Avoyelles Parish in Central Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Everett DeMoss, son, Stanley James DeMoss, parents, Cora Lachney and Jessie Brouillette, and by siblings, Elander Brouillette, Chris Brouillette Remel, Vergie Brouillette, Huey Brouillette, Nolan Brouillette, and Calvin Paul Brouillette.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet DeMoss Karpovs Michelet, her sister, Ethel Brouillette Landry (Samuel), grandchildren, Anatole Karpovs, Aleksander Karpovs, Richard DeMoss, Paul DeMoss and Andrew DeMoss, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Beulah witnessed many changes in history and technology over her 100 year life span and was truly a piece of Living History herself. As a child she worked alongside her family picking cotton and endured the hardships of The Great Depression. As a young wife with small children and with a husband stationed overseas during World War II and The Korean War, she weathered the anxious wartime years. She later worked as a seamstress altering clothes at home, and after retiring to Slidell, spent countless hours sewing, maintaining her gardens, and cooking meals for family gatherings. But she will best be remembered for her kind nature, her love of friends and family, and her enduring devotion to her husband of 60 years, Garland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11 AM in Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. A celebration of life will follow in her daughter’s home.
