Beulah Lepre Oswald-Soto

Beulah Oswald-Soto, age 90 of River Ridge, LA died on April 9, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Emmett Oswald; son, James Armand Oswald; husband of 18 months, Luis Alejandro Soto; parents, Nolia LeBlanc Lepre and Vallie Francis Lepre; and brother, Vallie Francis Lepre, Jr.; and sister, Betty Phillips Maxwell. She is survived by children, Robert Emmett Oswald, Jr., Elizabeth Oswald Fetzer (Everett), and Scott Ashton Oswald (Erin); grandchildren, Katie Oswald Hutchins (Jared), Margaret Oswald Thompson (David), Robert Emmett Oswald III, Donald Everett Fetzer III (Jessica), Rankin Scott Fetzer, Ashton Vincent Fetzer, Bridget Oswald Anderson (Michael) and Claire Margaret Oswald; great grandchildren, Melrose Hutchins, Levi Thompson, Dillon Fetzer, Jace Fetzer, Abigail Fetzer, Charlotte Fetzer, Ellanore Fetzer, Oliver Fetzer, Patrick Anderson, and John Anderson; sisters, Beverly Epling and Wanda David. Additional survivors include 7 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 stepchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren. Mrs. Oswald-Soto was born in Biloxi, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Biloxi High School and Charity Hospital School of Nursing. A Master Gardener and Landscape Design Consultant, she is the founding president of Jefferson Beautification, Inc., having become active in civic endeavors in 1976 as a member of Shady Oaks Garden Club. She is a founding coordinator of the Jefferson Parish Adopt-A-Parkway Program and has served on the board of directors of the LA. State Urban Forestry Council, The River Ridge Community Association, the Four Parish Civic Beautification Association, the LaSalle Park Development Board, the Harahan Beautification Commission, and the Westwego Beautification Commission. A memorial visitation and service will be held on May 23, 2025, at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. Visitation will be held from 9:00am-10am with a Memorial Mass at 10am, and inurnment to follow at Metairie Cemetery after the Mass.
