Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, James H. Cohen; and her parents, Leo and Anna Steckler.
She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Cohen (Julie) and Jerry Cohen; her two grandsons, Alan Cohen (Holly) and Barry Cohen (Lane); and her four great grandchildren, Claire, Asher, Addie, and Brady.
Beverly was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 23, 1927. She was a graduate of Eleanor McMain High School and attended L.S.U. Her lifelong career began in 1958, when she and her husband, James, opened their antique business on Royal Street in the French Quarter, James H. Cohen & Sons.
Beverly was a member of the Council of Jewish Women, Beth Israel Sisterhood, and Hadassah. She loved traveling and playing Bridge, but most of all, she cherished time with her family. Her family was her life.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to Drs. Jayne Gurtler, Rodney Robinson, and Alvin Wexler, for the care and compassion they gave to Beverly and her family.
A funeral service was held for Beverly on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans. She was laid to rest in Old Beth Israel Cemetery.
