

Billie Cofield Singleton, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cofield and Virginia Citrano; sister, Sherrill Hill; and her brother, Sammy Citrano.
Billie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David Singleton; her daughters, Davina Singleton Burchfield (Gary) and Kimberly Singleton Short; sister, Paula Landis (Ron); brothers, Paul Citrano (Judy) and Johnny Robinson (Debbie); grandchildren, Marie Zimmermann, Lindsey Schroll (Jacob), Jessica McNeely (Brandon), and Justin Mekdessie; and great-grandchildren, Ben, Jemma, Logyn, Levi, and Rhett. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
Billie was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated as valedictorian of her class from Druid City School of Nursing, where she received her diploma as a registered nurse. Billie was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, a member of the Red Hat Society and the Aurora Country Club, where she served on the Board and was a past president. She also enjoyed playing tennis and enjoyed having monthly gatherings with her friends to play Bridge.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 12:00PM. A visitation will held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the chapel service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
