Bradley J. Hill, Sr., resident of Old Jefferson for 32 years, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the age of 66. Bradley is survived by his wife Carla H. Hill; his two children, son Bradley J. Hill Jr., daughter Jennifer E. Hill; his grandson Greyson J. Hernandez; his brother James W. Hill Sr.,as well as his nieces Angela Hill Keller and Melissa H. Whittington, and nephew James W. Hill Jr. Bradley was preceded in death by his parents, Yvonne Mouledoux Hill and Samuel Sydney Hill, along with his sister Suzanne Hill.
Bradley grew up in the Bucktown Neighborhood, where he rode his bike as a paperboy alongside his twin brother James. There he grew a love for fishing and crabbing, learning to make crab nets and exploring Lake Pontchartrain. He went to St. Louis King of France grammar school, and graduated in 1974 from Archbishop Rummel High School.
Bradley was a man of many talents, and tried to enjoy his life each day. He loved cooking for a crowd, especially on the grill. He was a homebrewer of beers, and enjoyed photography. On any given afternoon you could find him in his man cave with his favorite cigar and a cold beer, with a chair open for you to join. His witty sense of humor could make anyone laugh. He was an excellent storyteller, and the story was a little more exaggerated each retelling. His favorite place to be was the fishing camp in Happy Jack, whether on the water fishing, or kicked back in his man cave there. The times that we've shared together will live on forever in our hearts; his presence will forever be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering for Bradley will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:30AM until 2:00PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Interment will be private.
