

She is survived by her loving husband of 59.5 years, William J. Daly, the love of her life. Also survived by her children and son-in-laws: Sharon Daly Hamblin (Bill), Susan Daly Lange (John) and Cynthia Daly Jones (Richard); her grandchildren: William Hamblin, James Hamblin, Grace Hamblin, Catherine Lange, Elizabeth Lange, Caroline Jones and Emily Jones; her sisters Patricia Brady Cusimano (Sal) and Lois Brady Cucullu; her brother-in-law Thomas Daly (Priscilla) and many other loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and neighbors.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican High School in 1957 and St. Mary's Dominican College in 1961 earning a B.S. in Chemistry. She interned at Ochsner Hospital achieving a registry in Medical Technology (ASCP).
Later in life, she went into research at the U.S. Department of Agriculture taking classes in genetic engineering at Catholic University and NIH that she used in her work on the Phytase Project.
The most important things to her were God, her family, and her friends.
She loved being with her grandchildren. To keep in touch with them, she would send a group text with her GTFTD (Gan’s Thought For The Day). She loved her parish family at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church where she and Billy served in several ministries and participated in many organizations. She loved lunches with her daughters, girlfriends and sister, and get-togethers with her high school and college friends. She was active in and loved her friends in her bridge club, bible study group, book club, and investment club. She also loved gardening and travel.
She and Billy enjoyed many wonderful trips with family and friends especially the annual family beach trip, her trips with her sisters Pat and Lois, and numerous trips she and Billy took with her sister Pat and brother-in-law Sal.
A visitation will be held at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church located at 901 Beverly Garden Dr., Metairie, LA 70002 on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass starting at Noon celebrated by Rev. Clayton "Beau" Charbonnet and Rev. Dan Darmanin.
A private Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Due to Covid restrictions there will not be a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St Vincent de Paul, Right to Life, Catholic Relief Services, Second Harvesters, or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
