

Charles Anthony Cola passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the age of 69. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Quintella Boult Cola; children Michael W. Cola (Melissa) of Sugarland, TX, and Christopher W. Cola of Houston, TX; grandchildren Jaelin, Spenser, Megan, John, and Gianna Cola; siblings Gloria C. Moore of Summerville, NJ, Mary C. Leon of Convent, LA, Joseph Cola, of Lutcher, LA, Lionel Cola of Vacherie, LA, Wilfred Cola of Paulina, LA, Andrew Cola of Gramercy, LA, Deola C. Branch of Prairieville, LA, Myra C. Terry of New Orleans, LA, and Linda C. Watson of La Place, LA; brother-in-law Irvin Boult Jr. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charles is preceded in death by his parents John and Alberta Stevens Cola; grandson Matthew C. Cola; siblings Lena C. Johnson, Joyce C. Lee, and Yvonne C. Phillips. Charles was an usher and parishioner of St. Ann Church and Shrine and will be remembered for his devotion to God and the Catholic Church. He served in the US Army in Germany as a Master Sergeant. Charles graduated from Cypress Grove High School in Lutcher, LA and attended Nichols State University. He retired from Shell/ MOTIVA Norco refining after 37 years. He was the first African American promoted to a management position at Shell. Charles was on the Board of Directors of Boys Hope Girls Hope and was a past member of several committees at Jesuit High School. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel for the North American Martyrs (Jesuit High School), 4133 Banks St. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 10:30am. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30am until service time.
