

Cheryl Frame Klein passed away peacefully in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 65. Cheryl is survived by her husband of forty years, Dr. A. James Klein; her children, Jessica Anne Klein Sintes (Steve) and Adam Douglas Klein both of New Orleans and grandchildren, Jameson D. Sintes and Stella A. Sintes; siblings Dr. William A. Frame (Lorie) of Forsyth, Illinois and Teresa Anne Frame of Silver Spring, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her mother June L. Frame and her father, Clyde D. Frame. Cheryl will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters in law along with uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides of her family. Cheryl was born on August 8, 1950 in Takoma Park, Maryland. After spending her high school years in Puerto Rico she went on to study music at Stevens College and graduated from Loyola University of N.O. in 1972 with a degree in Music Therapy. Following her marriage to Jim in 1976 they resided in River Ridge for ten years before moving to Mandeville where they raised their children. Cheryl has worked with the LA Campaign for Tobacco Free Living (TFL), a program of the Louisiana Public Health Institute since 2004 as the Region 9 Manager. She has sat on many boards and committees and been involved with numerous organizations including the Florida Parishes Human Services Authority, St. Tammany West Habitat for Humanity, Tangipahoa Professional Women, St. Tammany Commission on Families, Leadership St. Tammany Alumni Foundation, Alliance for Good Government – St. Tammany Chapter, Professional Women of St. Tammany as well as participating in coalitions to raise awareness for healthy living. She has served on the Board for the Northshore Jewish Congregation and frequently played piano for services. Prior to her employment with TFL she worked as a Regional Prevention Coordinator for the Office of Addictive Disorders and as an Education Coordinator for Pride of St. Tammany. Cheryl was passionate about her work, has touched the lives of countless individuals and has been an inspiration to many to become involved in their community. She will always have a presence in our heart and memory. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
