Cliff was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 26, 1930, to the late Clifton Anthony Breaux and Eva Edwardeen Ruth Breaux. He attended Sacred Heart School and Holy Cross High School, where he excelled in athletics. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers baseball club, where he played centerfield from 1948 to 1951.
In 1951, Cliff was drafted by the U. S. Army, and served alongside his identical twin brothers, Johnny and Eddie, in Osaka, Japan, during the Korean conflict. Following his military discharge, Cliff demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit with several business ventures, including home building, racehorses, commercial lobster fishing, and ostrich farming.
Cliff retired as a licensed general contractor and enjoyed the balance of his life in Covington, Louisiana.
