Collette Reese Laurent passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, of complications due to pulmonary hypertension. Age 55 years. Beloved daughter of Shirley Reese Batt, adored mother of Louis Pierre Laurent Jr. (Chantell) and Lauren Rose Laurent, and the treasured “Nana” of Carter Ryan Kelly. Also survived by brothers, Arthur Reese Jr., Rickey Reese (Debbie), and Derek Reese (Dari), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted father, Arthur Howard Reese Sr., her stepfather, Warren Ralph Batt, and her grandparents, Rose Gondolfo and Santo Maltese; Margaret McQuillan Reese and Earl Reese Sr. Collette was born in New Orleans and resided there until the age of five. She then became a lifelong resident of Terrytown, Louisiana. She was a very modest, humble, and devout Catholic. She was a true blessing to her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2016. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Catholic mass will follow at 12:00 p.m, with the interment at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
