My condolences to Danny's family. I meet Danny in the late 90,s at Winn-Dixie 1433 before that store was closed and the new store 1411 across from Saints training facility was opened. I  was the new Deli Manager and I was in need of an assistant deli manager and I was questioned about my decision because I chose Danny. I chose him because he was dedicated and a good man and loved by his team. After all these years of various management jobs I held with Winn-Dixie Danny was the person I was most proud of promoting; Danny proved the naysayers wrong and the love he is receiving from all those that worked with him is the testament to that. There are so many funny stories from  working with Danny at Winn-Dixie I could write a novel about them. I know that he is up in heaven laughing about it right now and enjoying  "Inabriated Brisket" with Chef Frank and  "Diamond Cutting" a Virginia backed ham with the Warrior. Enjoy paradise my friend. So sad to hear this! Will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers during this sad time. Danny was  the nicest guy and always had a smile on his face. 

My heart cries out for the loss of my friend and co-worker, Danny, who inspired me with his courage during his final battle. He somehow managed to keep his smile and sense of humor alive even during the bad times, but Danny never gave up hope. We will always miss him and will cherish the times we spent together. Man, this really is so sad and a flood of feelings and memories of Danny have flooded in my mind when I heared of his passing. 

We had an on and off friendship over the years but I've known him since We both were around 6 or 7 years old from being neighbors. I have so much I can say about Danny being I've known him almost my whole life. I'll just sare two things I posted from my FB when I heard of his passing and just tells the tip of who he was as a person.

"When my dad left us , he was givng us only $200 a month to live off and my mom had bills to pay and we would run out of food sometimes for week or more, and I mean zero food in the house. Danny was the only person I knew at this time that was working and he was around 15 or 16 at this time. So I would ask for a loan of some cash from him and would pay him back as soon as my dad gave us the monthly cash. He would hand it over or help out without question , so we could get some food to hold us over. 

One of the best times I had with Danny was when I was around 18 or 19, My mom and brother were working at Mustang Sallys (country music bar) and I was incharge of smoking the thanksgiving turkey. So I got it all set up at night and was just planning a solo night alone and then the doorbell rang . It was Danny with a bag and he picked up some beers and we sat out there in the yard drinking and cooking and basting that turkey all night and had some good talks and laughs lol Sometimes it's just the little things that mean so much too you."

My deepest hearfelt condolences to Renee and the Kids and to his brothers Roland Jr and his Wife Candy and to Bill and his wife. 

Rest well dear friend..You deserve this rest.
