Darryl W. Cheramie born January 7, 1940 passed away on March 11, 2023 at the age of 83. He served his country in the Army National Guard of Louisiana for eight years. After he discharged from the military he began driving trucks and became the owner and operator of his own company, D & M Trucking. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Angela Merici. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and cruising. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Levie Cheramie; sister, Marlene Cheramie. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lena DiMarco Cheramie; daughters, Darlene Herman (John) and Denise Casadaban (Zip); grandchildren, Kayleigh Robertson (Barrett), Giselle Casadaban, Carly Casadaban, and Gabrielle Herman; great grandchildren, Emile Robertson and Oliver Robertson. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jaikishen, Dr. Touchy, and East Jefferson Cardiology 2nd Floor Staff. Services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by a Mass at 12:00PM.
