

Daryl Arthur Danielson, Jr., passed away on May 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, on June 14, 1950, to Daryl Arthur Danielson, Sr. and Susan Eversman Danielson, he was an honorable man, devoted to his family and loved by all. Daryl lived a life grounded in love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to doing what was right. He was a true gentleman-charming, generous, and genuinely welcoming to everyone he encountered.
Daryl was deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Brenda Power Danielson; his children and their spouses, Sarah Jenkins Oakes (Blake) and Keith Jenkins (Kristin “KK” Kirwin Jenkins); and his cherished grandchildren, Avery and Charlotte Oakes, and Konnor and Kate Jenkins. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and rooting for the New Orleans Saints.
He is also survived by his siblings: Deborah Danielson Ryan (Robert), Barbara Danielson Fitzgerald (Michael), Dawn Danielson Hoppes (Mark), Gregory Danielson, Sr. (Lisa), and Stephen Danielson (Erin).
An honor student at De La Salle High School, Daryl formed friendships there that endured throughout his lifetime. He graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and later earned a Master of Science in Geology from the University of New Orleans. He went on to enjoy a distinguished career as a geologist in the oil and gas industry, a passion he shared with his father and brother, and later with younger members of his family. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and friend.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend his services at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6367 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Visitation begins at 10:00 am and continues until the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon. Private interment to follow.
