David Francis Stevens

David Francis Stevens born on Monday, October 4, 1965 passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the age of 55. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 24, and was honorably discharged on March 4, 1991. He graduated from Delgado Community College with his Associates of Applied Science degree in May 13, 1999. He enjoyed shooting pool with his pool leagues, BCA and APA "Hit it Harder". He was a life long New Orleans Saints fan and LSU football fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded by his father, Wilbert Stevens; grandparents, Gerald and Estelle Van Pelt, and one of his best friends, James Chris "Sparky" Matthews.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years Karen Kerry Stevens; his step sons, Michael Christopher Turner and Benjamin Nicholas Turner; two daughters, Amber Reneé Ashby Kobrock (Jeffrey) and Jessica NaDale Turner; grandchildren, Jeffrey III, Sarah Rose; mother, Virginia Stevens; sister, Andrea Lynn Stevens (Allan); nephews, Allan A. Silva and Ashton A. Silva; uncle, Leon G. Perret (Patricia); special friend, Mark Berluchaux (Jennifer); life long friends, Nathan Allison and family, and his medical service dog, Sugar.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM followed by a service at 1:00PM. Interment will be at Lake Lawn Park. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Ochsner Main Campus 9th floor West Tower Neuro Surgical Critical Care Unit and the Spiritual Care Unit for all that they did to care for David and his family.
