He was a graduate of Louisiana Community and Technical College System. He was a dedicated employee at Bunzl Distribution as well as a great mechanic and car audio technician.
From childhood, Demond loved taking things apart to put them back together. He was always repairing a car or minibike with love in his eyes. He also enjoyed eating seafood with family and fishing with his sister.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Yolanda Jackson and Patricia McCraine. He is survived by his sons, Owen and Avery, his grandparents, Ralph Jackson (Betty) and William Hales, his parents, Regina Jackson and Eric Hales, his siblings, Benjamin Beverly, Bryant Beverly, Reshanda Gray, Erica Hales, and Darian Hales, and a host of other siblings, family, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 10:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery in New Orleans.
