Dennis E. Rodriguez

Dennis Rodriguez, a resident of Harahan Louisiana for the past 43+ years, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the age of 86. Dennis joins his wife of 57 years, the late Alba Luz, the love of his life and reason for living. He is survived by his daughters Denisa Rodriguez, Cecilia V. Schleismann (Kevin); son Dennis Rodriguez II (Lisa); grandchildren Ramon Vivas, Araceli Vivas, Lazaro Vargas, Payton Rodriguez, Leah Rodriguez, Cheyenne Rodriguez; great-granddaughter Sophia Ruiz, as well as his wonderful friend and former aid Nohemi Contreras. He was preceded in death by his parents Zacharias and Dominga Rodriguez and his siblings Zacharias, Fernando, Lillian, and Anabelle.

Dennis was born on January 16, 1939 in Blue Fields Nicaragua. He wore many hats in his working career, he was a police officer, food service manager, a United Cab driver, and lastly he worked as a baker at Walmart in Harahan. He had strong conviction for his Catholic religion and deep profound faith in Saint Jude. Dennis leaves behind plenty of lasting memories and his everlasting love for his children and grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be held in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025. Services will be private for immediate family and close family friends. Interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum at 1 p.m.
