
Diana LaBorde Rachal, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2023. Diana will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 56 years, William Rachal, her three children, William Rachal, Jr., Denise Hannan, and Diana Craig, as well as her grandchildren, Rowan Craig, Nolan Hannan, Darren Hannan and Kayley Hannan and many extended family members and friends. Diana lived a beautiful, full life with a passion for learning and a rare talent for making things around her beautiful. After marrying her college sweetheart, Bill, Diana perfected the art of making a welcoming home and started a family. Fluent in English, French and Spanish, she spread her knowledge by teaching French and Spanish to elementary students in Louisiana. She also was passionate about architectural history and design, and had a unique talent for decorating that lives on in the touches she made in her home, and those of her children. Diana also was an accomplished lawyer with an L.L.M. in Energy & Environment, and more than 10 years with the U.S. Department of Justice, in the U.S. Trustee’s Office in New Orleans. But more than that, she was a beautiful, kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother who always thought of others before herself. Diana had a lifelong love for Hawaii which is where she will return.
