Donald Herman “Handsome” Grodsky died peacefully on January 25, 2026 in Metairie. He was born on May 15, 1944 in New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Grodsky and Jennie Miller Grodsky. He is survived by his children, Stephen R. Grodsky (Kay) and Karen Grodsky Thomas; former wife, Marilyn F. Winston; grandchildren, Ryan Grodsky (Nikki), Jason Grodsky, Haley Grodsky and Bryce Thomas; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Melvin Grodsky (Mary) and Barry Grodsky (Cheri).
He attended Sam Barth School and Newman High School, where he excelled at basketball and was a part of the state championship team. He then graduated from the University of New Orleans and Tulane Law School. He worked many years in his family’s clothing business while attending school.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
