Donna was an educator in the Orleans and Jefferson Parish public school systems, where she taught pre-K and shared her love, patience, warmth, and kindness with her students. After teaching, she devoted herself full time to raising her children and loving and caring for her family. Above all else, her true life’s work was her family. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was her greatest joy, and she embraced those roles with endless devotion, pride, and unconditional love.
Love was the core of who Donna was—she spoke it, lived it, and reminded everyone around her of its power. She often shared her favorite saying, “Love is patient, love is kind,” and embodied that truth every day. She held a special place in her heart for every member of her family, keeping close ties with all of them and making sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. She poured herself into her loved ones, her friendships, and her community, and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved and cared for.
Those who knew Donna remember her heart of gold, her boundless generosity, and the way her love filled every room she entered. To know her was truly to love her. She embodied compassion, joy, and selflessness, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to share in her life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Donna’s life on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service. Fuchsia, pink, and red were Donna’s favorite colors, and she wore them daily. Guests are encouraged to wear any hue of pink or red in her honor.
