Doris Bourgeois Seruntine

She was born August 29, 1927, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Earl Bourgeois and Sarah Gamino Bourgeois. Doris and her husband, Al, founded Seruntine Refrigeration. Their company has provided service throughout the New Orleans area, and is still operated by their children and families after more than 50 years. Doris also worked at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for 32 years, prior to Hurricane Katrina. She has been a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 41 years, Al Seruntine, III; their son Al Seruntine, IV; and her siblings: Earl Bourgeois, Raymond Bourgeois, Vernon Bourgeois, Charles Bourgeois and Norma Bourgeois French. She is survived by her beloved children: Earl J. Seruntine and his wife, Cyndi; John R. Seruntine and his wife, Linda; and Anne Seruntine Singer and her husband, Charlie. She is also survived by her late son, Al’s wife, Marlene and Bobby. Doris will be forever missed by her grandchildren: Amy Nebel and her husband, Charles; Tammie Chaplain; Tricia Bonaldi and her husband, Rick; Tracie Grubb and her husband, Brian; Shawn Miller; Lisa Atken; Lauri Atken and her husband, Raymond Cella; Leslie Pokorski and husband Stephen; Scott Singer and his wife, Morgan; Rusty Singer and his wife, Erin; and Chris Seruntine; her great grandchildren: Roman Cumberland; Jack Bonaldi, Emma Bonaldi, Samuel Bonaldi; Ainsley Grubb, Stella Grubb; Stephanie Cunningham; Sarah Miller; Alex Singer, Austin Singer and Benjamin Singer; and great-great grandchildren: Collin Miller, Chase Miller: Nikki Ryder and Nate Ryder.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, puzzles and blackjack. We will always cherish the memories that we have and are better for having known and been loved by her.

A Mass will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans at 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
