

Dorothy “Dot” Goldman Levin passed away April 29, 2025, at the age of 97+. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 30, 1927 to Solomon and Dorothy Heller Goldman, she graduated from Isidore Newman School and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After graduation from college, she returned to New Orleans and became the first teacher/director of the Jewish Community Center Nursery School when it opened in 1949. She taught there again in the early 1960's, and, subsequently, at Children’s Place and Communal Nursery School. She also was a teacher at Temple Sinai Religious School for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Stanley H. Levin, and sister, Eve Goldman Herzfeld, and is survived by son, Richard B. Levin (Suzette), daughter, Dorothy Gee “DeeGee” Liniado (Robert), grandchildren Stacy Dickerman, Millie Liniado and Adam Levin. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the service begins at 11:00am. Graveside will follow at Dispersed of Judah Cemetery on Canal St in New Orleans, LA.
