Earl James "E.J." Schick

Earl James Schick passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 13, 2026 at the age of 66. Earl was born on October 16, 1959 in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from Alfred Bonnabel High School. He was a dancer with the Starlet Dance Academy, his family's dance studio and was a member of the Fantasy 8 dance group. He enjoyed playing guitar and pickleball in his spare time.

Earl, also remembered as E.J, was the loving and devoted husband of Cynthia Sue Tippens Schick, Father of Louis M. Schick, Amber Schick Stroupe, Kristin Schick Fonseca and Nicholas Gussoni. Father-In-Law of Jordan Stroupe, Adam Fonseca and Ashley Gussoni. Grandfather of Henry Stroupe, Olivia Stroupe, Angelina Fonseca, Oliver Fonseca, Leo Gussoni and Reno Gussoni. Beloved Son of the late Leona R. Giamalva (Schick) and Louis F. Schick, Jr. Brother of Gwendolyn E. Schick, Lisa Schick Nunenmacher and Gina M. Schick (deceased). Brother in-law of Glenn Nunenmacher. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services, officiated by Rev. David Tippens, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with a chapel service following at 12 PM. E.J. will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery immediately after the chapel service has concluded.
