Eileen Kay Neumann Hedrick

Eileen Kay Neumann Hedrick passed away April 5, 2024 at the age of 91. Born November 15, 1932 in New Orleans, LA. She is the daughter of the late John L. Neumann and Catherine Untereiner Neumann. Beloved wife for 67 years of the late Roy G. Hedrick Sr. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Beverley Trapp (Bill) and Joanne Flettrich (Butsy). Mother of Roy Jr. (Rhonda), Kenneth Sr. (Peggy), Phillip Sr. (Susan) and Cheryl (Amy Lesen); grandchildren Kenny Jr. (Melisa), Mandy (Rich), Chris, Roy III (Yuka), Ross (Courtney), Phillip Jr., Anthony Scalise Jr. (Stephany), Chad Scalise (Tasha); great-grandchildren Carter, Payton, Tripp, Allie, Ryan Kay, Colton, Emma, Luna Eileen, Hannah, Stella, Samantha, Jayda, Avery, Korbyn. Kay also had a host of nieces and nephews who all shared a mutual love of family and fun.

Kay grew up in New Orleans, LA, and was a resident of Metairie for 64 years.

She attended St. Matthias Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School, Class of 1951. She was a talented cook, decorated for every holiday, sewed costumes for parading Mardi Gras krewes and loved spending time with her family and friends, fishing off the back wharf at the camp, holding all the things while we went on yet another roller coaster. She was a loving and dedicated mother and caregiver to all her loved ones.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, April 16, visitation at 9:00A. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00A, interment following.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
