Elaine A. Clesi

Elaine Plauche Clesi died peacefully on Sunday, November 29th, 2015 in the presence of her loving family at the age of 75. Beloved wife of 56 years to the late John Clesi Jr. Mother of John Clesi III (Faye), Norma Clesi Yount (Bret), Julie Clesi Charpentier, and Michael Clesi (Bridget). Devoted MiMi to Jill (Joe), Patrick (Rachel), Jennifer, Jake, Dana, Alayna, Brittany, Mathew, and Caitlin. Loving great-grandmother of Emma, JoJo, Elaine, Deacon, and Alexis. Preceded in death by her parents Peter Sumpter Plauche and Ann Moreau Plauche as well as siblings Melvin Plauche, Aniece Plauche, and John Donald Plauche. Survived by a host of loving extended family and devoted friends. Elaine was one of the first educators at St. Christopher Preschool and enjoyed working with children; however her greatest passion was being a homemaker and extremely loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends were her greatest pastimes. She truly enjoyed hosting parties and holiday gatherings always exhibiting her contagious smile. Elaine loved life to the fullest and was beautiful both inside and out. During her Alzheimer's journey she had loving and devoted caregivers for whom the family is extremely grateful especially Bridget and Julie as well as Alayna, Jill, Karen, Amanda, Tangi, and Melanie. The family would also like to thank the staff at Ashton Manor and St. Catherine's Hospice for their love and support. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, masses or donations in memory of Elaine to the Alzheimer's Association are preferred and appreciated.
