

Elizabeth Gulotta Saputo, age 91, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Albert Joseph Saputo for 66 years. Beloved mother to Catherine Saputo Goodier (the late Dr. Elbert Goodier); most loving grandmother to Christina Goodier Ross, Dr. Gina Goodier, Dr. Michael Goodier (Aimee); great-grandmother to Christian Ross, Julia Ross, Anna Goodier, Michael Goodier, Jr. and Alexis Goodier; aunt to Marianne LaPorte (Ronald, Sr.), Sal Ciaccio, Joseph Saputo (Wanda), Paul Saputo (Julie), Sal Saputo (Jeanne), and Albert C. Saputo (Annie); great aunt to Ronald LaPorte, Jr.; daughter of the late Bernard Gulotta and Catherine Sunseri Gulotta.
Born August 27, 1925, Elizabeth attended St. Joseph Academy in New Orleans and graduated in 1943. She was the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion. She received the archdiocese medal for her work with Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Ladies of the Madonna and a past member of the St. Anthony of Padua Altar Society. She served as captain of a retreat at the Christian Life Center at St. Joseph Abbey. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Church.
She also enjoyed cooking and collecting cook books.
Elizabeth was a loving, caring, beautiful woman who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished her many friends. She will truly be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave., Metairie, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Hope Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, her family prefers Masses, donations to Poor Clare Nuns (720 Henry Clay Ave. New Orleans), or charity of one’s choice.
