Elizabeth Reynaud Schmitt, 94, lifelong resident of New Orleans and Pass Christian, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Dunbar Village, Bay St. Louis, MS. Betty always had a warm heart, an open door, and sang a happy song (preferably Jimmy Buffett). She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her late husband, Herman Theodore Schmitt. Beloved daughter of the late Clarence Sidney Reynaud and Katherine Sinclair Reynaud. Sister of the late Joseph S. Reynaud, Katherine R. Schneidau, Gertrude R. Burguieres, Richard B. Reynaud, Dorothy Reynaud and Arthur C. Reynaud. She is survived by son, William (Jim) R. Schmitt (Gayla) of Pass Christian, MS and daughter, Barbara E. Schmitt, of New Orleans, LA. She was a loving grandmother to Eugene R. Schmitt (Theresa), William E. Barker (Diana) and Bruce L. Barker and great-grandmother to Keegan T. Schmitt, Marin M. Barker, C. Mason Barker and Ellis B. Barker.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be private.
