

Elsa Mercedes Andrade Dupre passed away peacefully to meet her Jesus on Friday, October 7th surrounded by her loving family. A native of Quito, Ecuador, Elsa left her country and settled in New Orleans where she met the love of her life, Paul. L. Dupre at a New Orleans Schwegmann’s Supermarket and thus began 50 wonderful loving years together. Elsa resided in New Orleans, Kenner and later in Slidell and worked for the D.H. Holmes and Maison Blanche Department Stores. She proudly became a United States citizen and was also a member of the Slidell Red Hats Society, Journey Fellowship Church Precious Pearls and the Council on Aging Senior Center. Most importantly, she cherished her precious children and was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Her legacy continues with her surviving children Edward Dupre, Nancy Dupre Baudin, Richard Dupre, Diana Dupre LaSalla, son in laws Darren LaSalla and Don Baudin Sr., daughter in law Terri Dupre, grandchildren Aidan and Connor LaSalla, Don Jr. and Kristen Baudin, Alyse and Landon Dupre, cousin Carlos Gavilanes and wife Iris, and countless special nieces and nephews. She is the daughter of the late Alphonso and Ines Andrade.
Elsa’s (as she was frequently called) relatives and friends are invited to attend the “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Journey Fellowship Church, 3127 Pontchartrain Drive Slidell, LA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider playing a game of Bingo, Jenga or UNO with a loved one and having a toast and a dance to ‘LaBamba” or any Elvis Presley song to partake in her heavenly celebration.
