Emile “Skeets” P. Maddie, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the age of 94. Born in Independence, Louisiana on June 25, 1928. Emile was a sales representative in the hardware industry. He was an all-around sports fan with a passion for fishing.
Emile is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Theresa G. Maddie; parents Anthony and Grace Maddie; and siblings, Tony, Rosa, Theresa, Joe and Leon.
He is survived by his sons, Emile P. Maddie, Jr. (Belinda) and Kenny Maddie (Susan); grandchildren, Blair Dellamea (John), Brooke Maddie (Mark), and Bailey Maddie (Ryan); and sister, Angelina. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ochsner Hospital.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Robert “Bob” Massett. Interment to follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
