Evelyn Clair Le Jeune

Evelyn Clair Le Jeune passed away on March 12, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born in New Orleans in 1921 and graduated from John McDonough High School and Spencer Business College. After graduating, she went on to work for the New Orleans Public Health Department and General Electric. She was a member of the Junior Philharmonic and a devout Roman Catholic all her life. Evelyn was an excellent cook who also enjoyed ceramics and gardening.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband Amos Philip Le Jeune and her parents William Edward Clair and Frances Barth Clair; and two brothers Merlin Clair and William Clair. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Matczak of Milton, Delaware; and her sons Ronald C. Le Jeune of Wilmington, Delaware, Dennis Le Jeune of Burtonsville, Maryland, and Glenn Le Jeune of Sandwich, IL; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Blessed Francis Seelos Church, 3037 Dauphine St., New Orleans, LA 70117, on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 12:30 p.m; followed by interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
