Francis Joseph Kleinpeter Jr.

Francis Joseph “Junior” Kleinpeter, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Petry Kleinpeter. Loving and devoted father of Patricia K. Scairono (Tony), Barbara K. Tschirn (Stephen), and Joseph P. Kleinpeter. Grandfather of Karen T. Sablich (Jamie), Kevin P. Tschirn (Kristin), and Anthony J. Scairono (Jenna). Great grandfather of Jude Sablich, Andrew Tschirn, and Claire Sablich. Junior was born in New Orleans on October 14, 1918 to the late Mary and Francis Joseph Kleinpeter, Sr. Brother of Mildred Kleinpeter, SSND, Beverly K. Cyrus, Ruth K. Pollet, Raymond Kleinpeter, Frances K. Landry, and the late Leah Clare K. Lacoste, E. Arthur Kleinpeter, Alfred George Kleinpeter, and Mercedes K. Horcasitas. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Junior proudly served his country in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II, from 1941 to 1945. After he returned home, he and his brother Arthur were partners in the family business, Kleinpeter’s Grocery Store. Junior was an avid fisherman and loved to dance.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
