Gail Huntington Power passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born on August 4, 1936 in New Orleans to the late Lloyd Wolcott Huntington and Mildred Lintz Huntington. Gail resided in Huntsville, Alabama. Being the family caretaker, Gail came back to New Orleans for a week but ended up staying for twelve years, caring for her parents and other various family members before returning to her home in Huntsville. Gail was an eccentric woman who loved luncheons with the ladies, art, and staying impeccably dressed. A real force of nature, you never had to ask what she was thinking. Gail loved deeply and was very thoughtful, sending beautiful cards and handwritten notes with a dab of perfume; you knew whom they were from just by opening the mailbox. She is survived by her cousin, Michael "Mickey" Tureaud,her neighbors, and her dear friends..two of whom she knew since she was five years old. Many thanks to her friends, Dottie and Lupe, who stood by her in Huntsville and were there to assist her in her last months. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, LA. Interment will be private.
