Gary Gerard Benoit died peacefully in his home on August 23rd, 2015 at the age of 60. Gary was born on September 29th, 1954 in New Orleans, to Joan and Roland Benoit. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in 1972. He married Michelle Dudenhefer in 1976. He worked as a plumber for over 35 years. He was a loving father, husband, comedian, sports fan, friend to many and the best baseball/softball coach ever known. He is survived by his mother Joan Benoit. He was the loving father of Jacques Benoit, Mignon Brown (Russell), Amelie Zeringue(Matthew). Grandfather of Bijou Benoit, Sebastien Benoit, Quinn Zeringue, and James Brown. He is also survived by his siblings Wayne Benoit, Lynette Hayes, Charlotte Vigier, Roland Bubba Benoit Jr., and Anne Benoit, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. A visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Friday, August 28th from 9 to 11am with a memorial service to follow at 11am. His nephew, Nicholas Adam will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gary’s life. Arrangements entrusted to Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
