Georgiana Fleming Hebert

Georgiana Fleming Hebert passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the age of 88. She was a native of New Orleans, a resident of Metairie for over 50 years, and a founder of St. Angela Merici Parish. She was the daughter of the late Edith Donlin Fleming and Chester Arthur Fleming. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Francis J. Hebert and her brothers Chester A. Fleming, Jr. (Marilyn) and Walter B. Fleming. She is survived by her two sons Francis J. Hebert, Jr. (Treide) and George W. Hebert (Nancy). She was the proud and doting grandmother of Benjamin J. Hebert and Lucy K. Hebert. She also leaves her devoted cousin, Mary Cadow, beloved nieces and nephews and sister-in law, Joy Fleming. Alumnus of Annunciation High School and 1946 graduate of Dominican College, she always held her Dominican legacy in high favor through her many hours of volunteering with the ministry of the Dominican Sisters and the alumni association. Georgiana and Francis were recipients of the prestigious St. Louis Medallion for years of dedicated service to their beloved St. Angela Merici. Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass at St. Angela Merici, 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie, La. on Friday, November 14, 2014, at 1:00 pm. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 am until funeral time. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery No. 1. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
