Grace Grilletta Conaway passed to her eternal home on February 4, 2022 at the age of 95, due to complications from COVID-19. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred Grilletta and Petrina Virginia Ragusa Grilletta. She was preceded by her loving husband of 49.5 years, Gus J. Conaway. Grace is survived by her children and in-laws: Grace Catherine Conaway-Fluitt (John), and David John Conaway (Dawn); her grandchildren: Virginia Mary Conaway Macaraeg (Richard), and Anna Maria Conaway Oztas (Onur) and her great-granddaughter: Aria Maria Oztas. She was preceded by her siblings: Angelina Grilletta Taravella (Sam), Mary Grilletta Trupiano (Jake), Frances Grilletta Bronzo (Louis), Stephen Grilletta (Josephine), Florence Grilletta Jacques (Eugene), Xavier Grilletta (Beatrice), Rose Grilletta Collura (Joseph), Patricia Grilletta Watkins (Irwin); a granddaughter Catherine Francis Conaway. Grace is also survived by many other loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and neighbors. She was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Church in Metairie and St. Jean Vianney Church in Baton Rouge. She enjoyed her large family, painting, gardening, traveling, and playing Blackjack.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the visitation which will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard on Friday, February 11, 2022. A Mass will be held immediately after visitation. Interment will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
A reception will be held at 2:00 pm at Andrea’s Restaurant, 3100 19th St, Metairie, LA 70002.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, everyone attending the funeral is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
