“It is the sound of the door key singing loud in a second: is anybody home? Then is your shadow of pacific pace running through on hardwood to water oleanders and mandevilla flowers on the porch and arranging butterflies on botanical tablet, while watching cruise ships leaving the port on Mississippi River .Lighthouse on Lake Pontchartrain is blinking. We sit in the Landry's to waive for travellers who never arrived and never left but their perennial shadow is watering oleanders and white and red mandevilla, and at the door, the Northern Rooster crows to announce another day through his sorrowful throat, to keep our neighbors and friends awake, and aware of your presence, for all time...”
