Ida Rose Landry

Ida Rose Padgett Landry was born January 27, 1935 and passed away at her home after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the age of 90. She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest I. Landry Jr., and her parents Mark and Ida Mooney Padgett. Rose is survived by her children, Stephen A. Landry (Karen), Mark P. Landry (Brenda), David I. Landry (Sharon), Beth A. Landry and James M. Landry; grandchildren Mark C. Landry (Tara), Matthew S. Landry (Katie), Jonathan D. Landry , Justin P. Landry (Chelsea), Katherine E. Landry, Kaitlyn E. Landry, J. Douglas Trammel (Olivia), Phillip D. Trammel (Kirby) and Kassie T. Grote (Jason); great-grandchildren Cecilia V. Landry, Nora Rose Landry, Finn L. Landry, Phillip T. Trammel, Maggie Trammel, Jude Michael Trammel, Grant Grote and Charlie Grote; beloved family member Linda Licausi; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brothers James Lawrence (“Bill”), McRay, George, Ralph, Rayford, Mark Jr. and Thomas Padgett; and lifelong friend Linda MacArthur Stiles.

Rose was born and raised in southern Mississippi. She was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Parish and a resident of Metairie for the last 69 years. Rose enjoyed reading books and going to the casinos on the Gulf Coast.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, LA, 70124. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place following the services at All Saints Mausoleum.
