Dr. Jack graduated from Brother Martin High School, and the L.S.U. School of Dentistry in May of 1977, and practiced general dentistry in LaPlace, Louisiana for his entire career. The bulk of his practice was geared toward helping the less fortunate, with a specific emphasis on children.
He lived life to the fullest in everything he did. He loved jazz music and was an avid attendee of Jazz Fest for much of his life. He frequently combined his dual passions of SCUBA diving and photography. He was an avid collector of high-performance motorcycles and sports cars. He was also devoted to health and fitness most of his life. Dr. Jack was a passionate supporter of animal causes and was fortunate to have had three beloved canine companions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack P. Newell, Sr. and Joycelyn Dubuc Newell, and his two beloved Yorkie best friends, Buddy and Chartres. Dr. Jack is survived by his third Yorkie best friend, Neo.
