Jacob Francis Vallelungo Sr.

He leaves behind his son, Jacob F. (Jay) Vallelungo (Fran), his grandchildren, Shannon Breath Ryan and Brandon Breath, Sr. (Michelle), five great grandchildren, Brandon, Jr, Christopher and Jonathon Breath and Kennedy and Cade Ryan. He is also survived by his brothers, Alphonse, Gus and Joseph Vallelungo.

Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Vallelungo and his parents Mary D’Antoni and Alfonso Vallelungo, Sr, his siblings, Mary Graffia, Katie Bananto, Eva Garey, Angelina Menant, Peter and Paul Vallelungo.

He served in World War II in the Army Medical Corp ETO Pacific. After the war, Jake became a master upholsterer. He specialized in antique furniture and was considered one of the best in the area.

Jake will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Our special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Home and St. Catherine’s Hospice for their loving care.

Memorial Visitation will be Friday August 8th, 2014 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Ponchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA., with Funeral Mass following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, a donation to Covenant House New Orleans, 611 N. Rampart St., New Orleans, LA, 70112 is preferred.
