Beloved daughter of the late Rita Gladys Naquin and Manuel P. Madrara , Sr.; sister of the late Peggy Madrara Elsenhsohen; sister-in-law to the late Virgil R. Elsenhsohen and Lorenzo “Butch” Fernandez.
She is survived by her sweetheart of 50 years, Ronald Abboud; her brother, Manuel P. Madrara, Jr.; and sister, Patricia Madrara Fernandez. She is also survived by our wonderful family of 6 nieces, 6 nephews, 5 great-nieces, and 18 great-nephews who check in on their “auntiques” on a regular basis, never forgetting her in the rush of their daily lives. We are truly blessed!
Janie had a long and prosperous career in the insurance industry. First for Kemper Insurance, then Security Insurance, and finally, for almost 40 years for Burnett and Company from which she retired a few short years ago.
She will long be remembered for her beautiful smile and her kind and generous nature, often going to the extremes to help those in need. One of our nieces referred to her as a “beautiful soul” and in Janie’s case, it certainly holds true. Even in death, she continues to reach out to help others through the organ donor program (LOPA) and would encourage others to do the same.
Janie was a true and treasured Sweetheart, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, companion, travel buddy, confidant, sidekick, friend, and Hallmark Channel Watcher. She is sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Janie L. Madrara to your favorite charity.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 13th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at The Atrium of Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
