Joan Evelyn Winters Summers

Joan Evelyn Winters Summers died on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife for 44 years of the late Henry C. Summers, Jr.; Loving mother to her three daughters, Gayle S. Motto, Barbara S. Barovechio (Don), and Deborah S. Poole (Rickey); grandmother of Daniel, Dennis, Stephanie, Melissa, David, and Kevin; great grandmother of D. J., Jacob, Julia, Taylor, Rachel, Leah, Emily, Lauren, and Brooks. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Joseph and Gladys Winters; her siblings, George Winters, twin sister Joyce Winters, and Dr. Jack Winters; and her special friend, Lawrence Hubert.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the Daniel Finnigan family and Serenity Senior Residence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM.
