

John J.R. "Jim" Flores was born in New Orleans on December 4, 1928 and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 25, 2016 at age 87. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Hilburn Flores. He graduated from Warren Easton High School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving as a Sergeant in the Korean War. He owned All-Phase Pest Control and Marine Fumigation since 1968. He was a parishioner, commentator, and usher in St. Rita Church in New Orleans for nearly 40 years. He was previously a commentator at many New Orleans Catholic Churches. He was very involved in his children's school activities as PTA parent and volunteer.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Arthur Flores, his mother, Elizabeth Jennings Flores, sister, Anna June Porche, brother William Flores. He is survived by his sisters, Claire Tribou, Betty Staub (Pat). He is survived by his eight children: Keith Flores, Lanette Flores Savoy, James Flores(Gisele), Lisa Flores Garrison(Snapper), Kevin Flores, Suzanne Flores Majoué(Clif), Christopher Flores(Tiffany) and Jean Flores Fuhrman(Chris). He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren four great-grandchildren: Colette Reece(David), Travis Garrison (Maia), Ruth Ward (Richard), Sarah Bender (Chad), Maxwell Garrison, John Flores, Samantha Savoy, Grant Garrison, Sydney Wentzell, Wade Wentzell, William Fuhrman, Jake Flores, Jude Flores, Amanda Fuhrman, Natalie Fuhrman, Adeline Reece, Harper Garrison, Evelyn Reece, and Levi Reece.
He had a passion for music, singing, dancing, and never missed an opportunity to speak publicly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral mass at 1:00 pm on Friday April 29, 2016 at
St. Rita Church in New Orleans, 2729 Lowerline St. Private interment will follow in St. Louis
Cemetery, #3. Visitation will take place prior to mass and will open to the public at 11 am.
