John V. Ramirez, Sr.

Preceded in death by his parents Ernesto and Mary Ramirez, John V. Ramirez Sr. was born May of 1950 in New Orleans, LA. He attended Loyola University and went on to earn a PhD from Columbia Pacific University. John was married to his wife, Kathy Ramirez, for 49 years and was a very loving husband, father, friend, and "Pito". A life-long Catholic, he was an active member of Our Lady of Divine Providence Church. John was a successful businessman for over 40 years as well as a skilled barber and avid collector of barbershop memorabilia. He had a love for the Great Smoky Mountains, trips to Gatlinburg, TN, and an occasional apple fritter. John Ramirez will be remembered by his family and loved ones for cherishing all of the blessings life had to offer and never giving up during times of adversity.

John V Ramirez Sr. is survived by his wife, Kathy Macaluso Ramirez; three children, John Ramirez Jr., Joseph Ramirez, and Jeanna Ramirez; daughter in law, Mary Ramirez; and grand daughters Riley and Sophia Ramirez.

Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in New Orleans on October 1, 2021 from 8:30-10 with a funeral Mass celebrated in the chapel directly after.
