John was 52 years old, born November 8, 1969 to John F. and Melinda B. Schwegmann.
John grew up in New Orleans, attended Clifton L. Ganus School, graduating from Brother Martin High School and Delgado Community College.
John worked in various positions in the family supermarket and real estate businesses, but his genuine passion was art, at which he truly excelled.
He is survived by, in addition to his parents, his two children John Paul Schwegmann and Hannah Mary Schwegmann and their mother Donna Q. Schwegmann, his two sisters Laurie S. Damare’ and Heidi S. Lazzara (Andrew) and their children Connor, Tyler, Parker, Sophie, Katie and Drew and his beloved rescue dog Lucy.
His extended family of aunts and cousins, all gave him love and support during this past difficult year.
By far, his greatest joy and satisfaction came to him from his beloved 14 year old twins, John and Hannah. He endured his last painful year solely to be with them and experience their love and support.
John is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John Gerald and Mary Elizabeth Schwegmann, his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Burge, his uncles Guy G. Schwegmann, William R. Burge, Jr., Edward D. Marks, Crichton W. Brown and his cousin and close friend Steven Marks.
In testimony to John’s extremely generous heart, he became an organ donor and his family has been informed that at least four people will benefit from this last act of love.
