Johnny Carrel Charrier, Sr. passed away at home on January 6th, 2015 at the age of 76. Johnny was the son of the late John Charrier and Leana Charrier Dardare also stepson of the late Faye Charrier and Sam Dardare and brother of the late Joe Charrier. Johnny is survived by his children Jonta Carrel Charrier, Jerlene Carol Charrier and Johnny Carrel Charrier, Jr. and his brothers Jules and Thomas Charrier. He is also lovingly remembered by his step daughters Lisa Frilot Kramer and Jaymie Garner Baggerman, his grandchildren Seth Charrier and Jeremy Kennison (Gem Scott Kennison) and his great-grandchildren Star Charrier and Ayden Barrios as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Johnny was married to the late Alta A. Lepine and Callie LeBlanc Charrier. He was also the long time companion of Claudia Garner.
Johnny was born in Avoyelles Parish on February 7, 1938. He joined the military and served for both the Army and Navy.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Lake Lawn Funeral Home located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be collected at the funeral home.
