Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Hugh Buras; his sister, Julie Daboval (Rocky); his brother, Jed Buras (Empress); nephews, Ryan Daboval, Brandon Daboval, Caleb Buras, and Grantham Yenni; and a number of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice Marie Buras.
Joseph was born in New Orleans on September 27, 1956, and raised in Chalmette. He graduated from Chalmette High School. His career spanned over 30 years with Freeman Decorating, where he was a truck driver and later managed the warehouse.
Joseph was well loved and will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:30AM. The interment will follow the chapel service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
